The 19th APT Policy and Regulation Forum for Pacific (PRFP-19)

The 19th APT Policy and Regulation Forum for Pacific (PRFP-19) will be held from 4-6 August 2026 in Funafuti, Tuvalu.

BACKGROUND
The Policy and Regulation Forum for Pacific (PRFP), initiated in 2009, has become one of the premium forums for regulators and policy makers of the Pacific region. The forum is a key subregional activity of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity attracting high-level participants from the Ministries and Regulatory Authorities from the Pacific each year. It is an excellent platform which provides an opportunity for the top policy makers and regulators to share information, best practices and experiences for the common benefit of the members. Issues relating to policy and regulations for telecommunication and ICT which are of common interest to the telecommunication administrations in the Pacific region were discussed and coordinated at the PRFP. These issues included international connectivity, Capacity Building, Broadband and Application, Policy and Regulation on Internet, Radio Spectrum Consideration, Cybersecurity, and Consumer Protection. The PRFP has also facilitated intra-regional collaboration on policy and regulatory issues.

OBJECTIVES
The Forrum aims to provide a shared high-level understanding of priority policy and regulatory approaches for advancing digital transformation in the Pacific. It will also offer practical insights and good practices for strengthening the resilience, security and protection of critical digital infrastructure, including undersea cables, satellite communications and emergency communications systems. It is further expected to enhance awareness of how connectivity can support digital competitiveness, innovation, entrepreneurship, digital government and people-centered services, particularly for remote and underserved communities. Overall, the programme aims to promote knowledge sharing, practical insights and regional cooperation in support of inclusive and sustainable digital development in the Pacific.     

PARTICIPATION
All APT Members, Associate Members, Affiliate Members, International/Regional Organizations, and eligible non-members can participate in the PRFP-19.

For both physical and virtual/online attendance, registration should be done by 21 July 2026 online at registration_link for making necessary arrangements. Please indicate the mode of delegates’ participation on the online registration form. Only the registered participants are entitled to attend the meeting.
