Dr. Masanori Kondo

APT Secretary General

With a distinguished career spanning decades in the telecommunications sector, Dr. Kondo brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role. Prior to his appointment as Secretary General, he held various leadership positions. His extensive tenure with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Japan, since 1990 highlights his instrumental involvement in international ICT affairs, overseeing bilateral cooperation, negotiations, and multilateral engagements with prominent bodies such as G7, OECD, APEC, and ITU. Under his guidance, APT continues to play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration among its member countries, promoting innovation, and advancing digitalization. Dr. Kondo's visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to APT's mission significantly drive progress in the telecommunications sector across the Asia-Pacific region.

Since its renewed launch in 2024, it has been an instrumental source of knowledge, providing members with access to key updates and insights that strengthen our shared mission.
