Objectives:
The Expert Group will consider not only regulatory matters relating to technical standardisation but also telecommunication/ICT policies and strategies related matters to-
- provide an avenue for regulatory matters associated with standardisation to be considered in appropriate technical standardisation work, and
- embellish the making of technical standards to harmonise regulatory and technical requirements, and
- produce research and analysis based outputs that are practical, focused and relevant to the needs of the region on telecommunication/ICT strategies and policies
- to exchange information between APT members on regulatory issues and telecommunication/ICT strategies and policies relevant to standardisation
Outcomes/Deliverables:
Recommended outputs from this Expert Group include:
- advice to ASTAP PSC Working Group and Expert Groups on regulatory matters of concern to members for which the Expert Group might provide specific consideration of solutions;
- advice or guidelines to APT members on the application or implementation of standards;
- guidelines on best practice partnerships between industry, SDOs and regulators;
- reports on Study Questions regarding telecommunication/ICT strategies and policies
