ASTAP: Expert Group on Disaster Risk Management Relief System (EG DRMRS)

Objectives:
The objectives of EG DRMRS are to:

  • Study and discuss about future activities and related work items for strengthening and dissemination of information and communication solutions for management of emergency and disaster risk, based on the APT activities and other information and communication solutions.
  • Collaborate and cooperate with ITU.
  • Promote specific action items for strengthening and dissemination of information and communication solutions for management of emergency and disaster risk.
  • Study and compare other standardizations which are related to information and communication solutions for management of emergency and disaster risk.

Output/Deliverables:
Outputs from EG DRMRS include:

  • Study of the actual conditions, information and communications circumstances and needs concerning the solutions for communicating information primarily for emergency and disaster risk reduction/mitigation management, including disaster relief activities and resilient information and communication technology solutions.
  • Study and discussions of an adequate management of emergency and disaster risk for the Asian and Pacific regions based on the study.
  • Discussions on the necessity of standardization for the information and communication solutions for management of emergency and disaster risk in the Asian and Pacific regions through the activities.
  • Preparation of contributions for ITU.
  • Publicity and promotion of information and communication solutions for management of emergency and disaster risk in the Asian and Pacific regions.

 Items for Discussion

  • Standardization of the information and communication technology applied to the information and communication solutions for management of emergency and disaster risk.
  • Specific work items for strengthening and dissemination of information and communication solutions for management of emergency and disaster risk, based on the APT recommendations and other information and communication solutions.
