Training Course on Preparation for Plenipotentiary Conference 2026

The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) will organise a Training Course on Preparation for Plenipotentiary Conference 2026 (TCPPC-2026) from 26 to 28 March 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. This training course provides an opportunity to experience discussion, negotiation, and coordination on issues at international conferences. This training course is supported by Australia (Extra-budgetary Contribution from Australia: EBC-A) and Japan (Extra-budgetary Contribution from Japan: EBC-J).

APT took an initiative in 2016 to launch the APT Training Course on Preparing for International Conferences, or “Mock Conference”, as part of a capacity building programme, providing an effective curriculum for participants who will participate and contribute to international conferences and meetings.

International conferences are platforms for discussion, negotiation and decision- making on issues that involve participation at the multilateral level. Effective participation in international conferences requires, among others, a good understanding   of ways and processes of discussion, negotiation and decision-making. Therefore, this training course is designed to provide such opportunities and assist APT members in preparing for better participation in international conferences. This time, the training course will focus on the structure, discussion, and coordination process of the APT Preparatory Group for the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2026 (APT PP-26) and the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2026 (PP-26).
