Training Course on Preparing for International Conferences - APG/WRC

Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) will organize the Training Course on Preparing for International Conference: APG/WRC (TCPIC-APG) from 22 to 24 July 2026 in Sapporo, Japan. The training course aims to provide an opportunity for the young generation who are new to international conferences to understand the international decision-making process including how to make presentations and coordination. This year, the event will focus on understanding of the structure and decision-making process of APG and WRC, which will be hosted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Japan. This Training Course will be followed by the 3rd Meeting of the Apt Conference Preparatory Group for WRC-27 (APG27-3) which will be held from 27 to 31 July 2026 at the same venue.

This particular Training Course aims to cover the work (structure and process) of the APT Conference Preparatory Group for WRC (APG) and the World Radiocommunication Conference of ITU (WRC).  APG is one of the important APT Work Programmes with the aims to coordinate and harmonize views of Asia-Pacific on the radio frequency allocations in order to develop APT common proposals (ACPs) for WRCs. It also works to develop APT contributions to ITU-R Conference Preparatory Meeting (CPMs), and on matters related to ITU Radiocommunication Assemblies (RAs). Since the structures and process of APG and WRC are hierarchical and complicated, it may not be easy for newcomers to understand overall pictures of those. This training course is designed to enhance trainees' knowledge and skills of the WRC preparatory as well as WRC itself, by providing the relevant lectures and hands-on exercise by experts who are having of expertise and long standing experiences of APG and WRC.
