Season's Greeting

Dear members and partners,

As we welcome the New Year, I would like to extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to you all. The year 2024 marked a significant milestone for the APT as we celebrated our 45th Anniversary and embarked on the implementation of our new Strategic Plan. This roadmap, guided by the five pillars including “Digital Connectivity”, “Digital Transformation”, “Trust and Safety”, “Digital Inclusion”, and “Sustainability”, has laid a strong foundation for our collective efforts in shaping the ICT landscape of the Asia-Pacific region.

Throughout 2024, we achieved remarkable progress together. Highlights include the successful adoption of numerous APT Common Proposals at the WTSA-24 in India and the launch of the preparatory process for the WTDC. Our Policy and Regulatory Forum introduced groundbreaking guidelines on public consultation, and the Secretariat expanded its Capacity Building programs, fostering greater collaboration and inclusivity. These accomplishments are a testament to the unwavering dedication and active participation of our members and partners.

As we move into 2025, we must address the evolving challenges in the ICT domain. The rapid pace of technological advancements brings opportunities, but also requires vigilance in areas such as cybersecurity, digital ethics, and bridging the digital divide. By continuing to work together in the spirit of cooperation that defines the APT, we can overcome these challenges and advance toward a more connected, inclusive, and sustainable future.

I extend my deepest gratitude to all members, partners, and stakeholders for your support and contributions over the past year. Your commitment has been instrumental in driving positive changes and ensuring the success of our collective endeavors.

Let us continue to build on our achievements and work together to create a brighter digital future for the Asia-Pacific region.

Wishing you all a prosperous and successful New Year!

Warm regards,
Masanori Kondo
