The 17th Session of the General Assembly of the APT (GA-17)

The 17th Session of the General Assembly of the APT (GA-17) will be held from 14 to 15 December 2026 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, as a physical meeting with a remote participation modality. It will be preceded by the Preparatory Meeting for the 17th Session of the General Assembly of the APT (GA-17 Prep, 13 December 2026) and followed by the 50th Session of the Management Committee of the APT (MC-50, 16-18 December 2026). GA-17 Prep, GA-17 and MC-50 will be hosted by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of Cambodia (MPTC) and organized by the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT).

The General Assembly is the supreme organ of the APT, composed of all Members and Associate Members and meets in ordinary session every three years, and in extraordinary session when circumstances require. It establishes the general policies and principles of the APT, determines the basis for the annual budget and the limits of annual expenditure for three years, and concludes and revises the necessary agreements between the APT and governments, organizations or administrations. At each ordinary session, it elects a President and two Vice-Presidents. GA-17 will also adopt the Strategic Plan for 2027-2029 and elect the Secretary General and the Deputy Secretary General for the 2027-2029 term.
