15th APT Policy and Regulatory Forum (PRF-15)

The 15th APT Policy and Regulatory Forum (PRF-15) which was held from 3 to 5 August 2015 in Singapore. The Forum was be organized by the APT and will be hosted by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA).
The APT Policy and Regulatory Forum (PRF) provides an ideal platform for policy makers, regulators and industry to network and discuss policy and regulatory issues that are of common interest to the region. This year, the PRF will be of particular importance as this is its first meeting since the Asia-Pacific ICT Ministerial Meeting in Brunei Darussalam held in September 2014. The Forum will address how to achieve the vision of “Building Smart Digital Economy through ICT” and include thematic sessions on the following topics:
A. Facilitative policies to build a Smart Digital Economy
B. Policies and strategic initiatives for new ICT technologies
C. Key priorities for the Asia Pacific region
D. Social transformation and technology
In addition, the PRF-15 discussed the implementation of the APT Strategic Plan for 2015-2017 approved by the 13th Session of the APT General Assembly held in Myanmar last year. The Forum will also highlight emerging issues that countries need to consider in the regulation of their telecommunications sector and cover other topics related to policy and regulation.
