Policy and Regulation Forum for Pacific

APT in collaboration with Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association (PITA) organized thePolicy and Regulation Forum for Pacific held from 27-29 April 2010 in Honiara, Solomon Islands. The participants from APT members countries, namely Australia, Fiji, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, New Zealand, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Cook Islands and Niue, APT Affiliate Member, Solomon Islands, Timor Leste and Vanuatu as well as members of Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association (PITA), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and other international organizations discussed and adopted measures to accelerate telecom and ICT infrastructure development in Pacific Island countries.

 
The Forum was inaugurated by Hon. Minister Varian Longamei, Minister of Communications and Civil Aviation, Solomon Islands. The Forum was supported by the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy (DBCDE), Government of Australia and the ITU.
