APT Operators Forum, APT Investment Dialogue and APT Regulator – Industry Dialogue

The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity organized the APT Operators Forum, APT Investment Dialogue and APT Regulator – Industry Dialogue from 21 to 23 June 2006 in Singapore. These events were hosted by the InfoComm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore and it was held alongside the InfoComm Media Business Exchange 2006 (imbX2006).
The APT Operators Forum (AOF) provided a platform for promoting close cooperation among the telecommunication and ICT operators of the Asia-Pacific region. The AOF was formed to provide a unique platform for close cooperation among operators, vendors, government sectors to create and maximize values and benefits in ICT and to foster exchange of information on matters of mutual interest. In it’s second meeting the AOF will discuss the issues of broadband and mobility, business competition strategies and policies in the current market situation, business opportunities in ICT sector, deregulation and competition for telecommunication market growth and new telecommunication business models.
The objective of APT Investment Dialogue was to provide a platform for the members to interact with potential investors within and outside the Asia Pacific region to enable members to attract potential investors to their countries. Potential investors include interested industry players, investment consultants and investment backers.
The APT Regulator – Industry Dialogue was to provide a platform for candid exchange of views between regulators and industries. APT Member regulators and industries will exchange ideas on creating conductive regulatory environment in the region to enhance service provisioning, business operations and investments.
