APT Workshop on International Mobile Roaming

The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) Workshop on International Mobile Roaming (IMR) was held from 13 to 15 June 2011 in Hong Kong, Special Administrative Region, People’s Republic of China. The Workshop was organized by the APT and hosted by the Office of the Telecommunications Authority (OFTA), Hong Kong, China.
The objective of the Workshop is to engage APT members and regulators in discussion and through presentations, information sharing and round-tables, consider and draft an action plan for the APT that addresses IMR issues, with a particular emphasis on reducing the high IMR costs in our region. The Workshop will consider the results of the IMR Surveys conducted by the IMR Working Group, Pricing regulation and trade agreements/negotiations, substitute services and technologies, Transparency issues, consumer information and quality of services benchmarks. It will also engage participants in round-tables to encourage discussion of how to address these issues.
