The 2nd Meeting of the Correspondence Group
for the Asia-Pacific ICT Ministerial Meeting 2019 (CGMM-2)
15 - 18 April 2019, Bangkok, Thailand
The 2nd Meeting of the
Correspondence Group for the Asia-Pacific ICT Ministerial Meeting 2019
(CGMM-2) was held from 15 to 18 April 2019 at the APT Headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand. CGMM-2 was attended by 48 participants including 37 experts
from 19 APT Members and APT Secretariat. More experts from Members had been
nominated as members of CGMM.
After its first meeting in
January, CGMM has subsequently worked through correspondence to develop the
first draft Ministerial Statement which was then circulated to Members for
consultation. CGMM-2 further discussed the first draft of the Ministerial
Statement which included comments/feedbacks from consultation with Members
and developed the second draft Statement to be circulated to Members for
their internal clearance. The meeting also developed and reviewed the draft
Press Release to be submitted to the Senior Officials Meeting 2019 of the
Asia-Pacific ICT Ministerial Meeting 2019 (SOM 2019).
CGMM-2 also developed and
reviewed provisional agenda of the SOM 2019, and the tentative programme of
the Ministerial Meeting. The
meeting agreed on the timeline for circulation of the second draft
Ministerial Statement to Members for their internal clearance by 10 May 2019.
The draft Statement, draft Press Release, and tentative programme of the
Ministerial Meeting will be finalized at the SOM 2019.
