The 2nd Meeting of the Correspondence Group for the Asia-Pacific ICT Ministerial Meeting 2019 (CGMM-2)

15 - 18 April 2019, Bangkok, Thailand

The 2nd Meeting of the Correspondence Group for the Asia-Pacific ICT Ministerial Meeting 2019 (CGMM-2) was held from 15 to 18 April 2019 at the APT Headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand. CGMM-2 was attended by 48 participants including 37 experts from 19 APT Members and APT Secretariat. More experts from Members had been nominated as members of CGMM.

After its first meeting in January, CGMM has subsequently worked through correspondence to develop the first draft Ministerial Statement which was then circulated to Members for consultation. CGMM-2 further discussed the first draft of the Ministerial Statement which included comments/feedbacks from consultation with Members and developed the second draft Statement to be circulated to Members for their internal clearance. The meeting also developed and reviewed the draft Press Release to be submitted to the Senior Officials Meeting 2019 of the Asia-Pacific ICT Ministerial Meeting 2019 (SOM 2019).

CGMM-2 also developed and reviewed provisional agenda of the SOM 2019, and the tentative programme of the Ministerial Meeting.  The meeting agreed on the timeline for circulation of the second draft Ministerial Statement to Members for their internal clearance by 10 May 2019. The draft Statement, draft Press Release, and tentative programme of the Ministerial Meeting will be finalized at the SOM 2019.
